POTENZA for acne scars, sensitive skin from Incheon International Airport: safety checks in Cheongdam

```markdown If you have sensitive or redness-prone skin and are considering POTENZA at Min Clinic, the first step is to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for your skin. Temporary redness, mild swelling or warmth may last for one to three days, while fine crusting, flaking, roughness or visible needle marks may remain for about one week. Washing and makeup are generally possible from the next day.
On the day of treatment in Cheongdam, Gangnam, check that a new genuine POTENZA tip is opened in front of you and confirm the treatment shot count on the device screen.
What POTENZA is and how it is delivered
POTENZA® is a radiofrequency microneedling device manufactured by Jeisys Medical Inc. in South Korea. Fine needles deliver radiofrequency energy at a selected depth within the skin, creating small, controlled thermal coagulation zones. The subsequent healing and collagen-remodeling process is intended to improve skin texture and elasticity.
For the appearance of enlarged pores, the treatment is designed to improve the structure and elasticity of the skin surrounding the pores. For depressed acne scars, it may be used to promote dermal remodeling around uneven areas.
POTENZA can operate at 1 MHz or 2 MHz, depending on the selected treatment mode. The doctor selects the appropriate tip, treatment depth, RF mode, energy level, treatment area and shot distribution according to the patient’s skin condition and treatment goals.
At Min Clinic, medical aesthetic procedures, including POTENZA, are performed by a doctor. Skincare treatments are provided separately.
A senior consultation manager conducts the initial consultation, and the patient’s skin is assessed using an EVE V MUSE analyzer. This is followed by an assessment and consultation with the doctor. If treatment is appropriate and the patient decides to proceed, the procedure follows.
Safety, downtime and sensitive skin
Sensitive skin does not automatically rule out POTENZA, but the treatment plan should be determined after the doctor assesses the patient’s skin condition, sensitivity, active inflammation and expected recovery time.
Temporary responses may include:
  • Redness, mild swelling or warmth for one to three days
  • Fine crusting, flaking, roughness or needle marks for approximately one week
  • Bruising, which is uncommon but may last for one to two weeks if it occurs
  • Tenderness, dryness or temporary worsening of acne
  • Pinpoint bleeding or a stinging sensation
A stronger treatment may result in more noticeable or longer-lasting temporary skin reactions.
Washing and makeup are generally recommended from the day after treatment. Strenuous exercise and sauna use should be avoided for at least three days. Flying is generally possible on the same day if there are no unusual symptoms or complications.
Topical anesthetic cream is included in the treatment process. Tell the clinic before treatment if you have previously reacted to a topical anesthetic or another product applied to the skin.
How Min Clinic designs POTENZA treatment
POTENZA is not performed with one fixed setting for every patient. The doctor selects the treatment plan according to:
  • Skin thickness and sensitivity
  • Active redness or inflammation
  • The location and depth of acne scars
  • The appearance of enlarged pores
  • Skin texture and elasticity
  • Previous procedures in the same area
  • Available recovery time
Depending on the treatment goal, Min Clinic uses tips selected for acne concerns, enlarged pores, and topical application or drug-delivery purposes.
The doctor also adjusts the treatment depth, RF mode, energy level, treatment area and shot distribution. Patients with sensitive or redness-prone skin should tell the doctor about their previous reactions and any important upcoming schedule.
Authenticity and shot-count checks
At Min Clinic, a new genuine POTENZA tip is opened in front of the patient before treatment. There is no separate hologram or authenticity-sticker verification process for POTENZA tips.
The patient can view the treatment shot count on the device screen. Min Clinic also displays a manufacturer-issued plaque identifying the clinic as an official POTENZA-certified clinic.
These are the appropriate authenticity checks for POTENZA. Verification methods used for other devices or injectable products should not be applied to POTENZA automatically.
A note on FDA clearance and Korean approval
The indication wording in FDA 510(k) K192545 is “electrocoagulation and hemostasis in dermatologic and general surgical procedures.” Acne scars, enlarged pores and skin texture are not listed in that FDA clearance wording.
FDA clearance is a United States regulatory record and is separate from Korean approval. At Min Clinic, POTENZA is used within its approved indications in Korea.
Patients should not be told that FDA clearance specifically covers acne scars or enlarged pores when those concerns are not included in the cited FDA wording.
Cost structure
POTENZA pricing methods may differ between clinics. At Min Clinic, patients may book a full-face treatment, a treatment focused on a specific concern such as enlarged pores or acne scars, or a partial area such as the cheeks or nose.
Depending on the treatment goal, the doctor selects among tips intended for acne concerns, enlarged pores, or topical application and drug-delivery purposes.
Topical anesthetic cream is included. An additional regenerative laser treatment is not required as part of the standard POTENZA procedure. If a patient requests it, the additional treatment is charged separately.
Ampoule or topical drug application is not included in the standard POTENZA treatment price. VAT is charged separately.
When comparing quotes from different clinics, align the tip type, treatment area and included services. Details not listed here—such as the number of passes over the treatment area, exact energy settings or package discounts—should be confirmed directly with the clinic.
Min Clinic applies the same prices to international and Korean patients and does not charge an additional card fee.
In accordance with Korean tax law, VAT refunds for cosmetic medical services provided to foreign visitors are no longer available for treatments received on or after January 1, 2026.
What to check on the day of treatment
  • Tip opening: Confirm that a new genuine POTENZA tip is opened in front of you.
  • Device screen: Check the treatment shot count displayed on the device screen.
  • Official certification: Min Clinic displays a manufacturer-issued plaque identifying it as an official POTENZA-certified clinic.
  • Treatment design: Ask which tip, treatment depth, RF mode and energy level the doctor selected for your skin condition.
  • Products applied: Confirm whether an ampoule, skin booster or topical drug will be used and whether it is charged separately.
  • Anesthetic cream: Topical anesthetic cream is included. Tell the clinic if you have reacted to topical anesthetics before.
  • Pregnancy: Min Clinic does not perform medical aesthetic procedures during pregnancy. Selected skincare treatments may be considered following consultation.
Expected timing and treatment course
The recommended number of sessions depends on the skin assessment and treatment goal. When repeated treatment is considered appropriate, approximately three to five sessions may be discussed. Patients visiting Korea from abroad may begin with one session, assess their skin response and then decide whether additional treatment is needed.
