What miraDry does
miraDry Fresh is an energy-based treatment that uses microwave energy with a cooling system. The energy is delivered to the area where the underarm sweat glands are located while the skin surface is protected through cooling.
The FDA 510(k) clearance for the miraDry System states its indication as the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis. The treatment is intended for the underarms and is not indicated for the hands or feet.
As underarm sweat glands are reduced, some patients may also notice an improvement in odor. However, individual results vary, and the treatment plan should be determined after consultation with a doctor.

Driving

Showering is generally possible approximately three to four hours after treatment. Follow the clinic’s instructions and avoid unnecessary friction or irritation to the treated area.
Flying
Flying is generally recommended from approximately four hours after treatment, provided that there are no unusual symptoms. If unexpected discomfort or other symptoms occur, contact the clinic before traveling.
Exercise
After one week, patients may begin with gentle stretching and gradually resume exercise according to their recovery. Avoid returning immediately to strenuous upper-body exercise if swelling, pain, or tightness remains.
Hair removal
Light underarm shaving with a razor may be resumed after one week if the skin is not irritated. Other hair-removal methods, including waxing and plucking, should be avoided during the healing period.
Recovery after miraDry
Temporary pain may be most noticeable during the first one to two days. Swelling, injection marks, tenderness, or bruising may remain for approximately one to two weeks, although the degree and duration vary between patients.
During the healing process, symptoms may improve and then temporarily reappear. Possible temporary symptoms include:

The healing process may take approximately four to twelve weeks and varies considerably between individuals. Patients should expect to monitor their recovery for up to three months.

Pregnancy and miraDry
