ONDA with no time off: safety checks in Cheongdam

This page is for someone who wants ONDA but cannot take days off work. Your appointment is booked and the day is close. At Min Clinic, a doctor performs ONDA, and pricing is based on the energy delivered — 40kJ to 100kJ on the face, 100kJ to 300kJ on the body — with one session recommended. There are three things to confirm about ONDA: how strong the evidence is, who performs the treatment, and who you contact if something goes wrong after you have flown home. There is no clearance sentence to quote here, so phrases like “cleared for” have no document behind them. What the evidence does and does not show is set out below.

Planning ONDA when you cannot take time off

If you cannot take days off, the question is less whether ONDA has downtime and more what the first one to three days are likely to look like for you. Ask what is typical on the evening of treatment and the next morning, whether make-up or exercise is restricted after ONDA and for how long, and whether an appointment before a weekend changes anything. Individual responses vary, so a plan with a quiet day after treatment is safer than one that assumes none.

On the day of your ONDA appointment

On the day, bring your medication list and any previous treatment records, and arrive without make-up on the treatment area if you can. Before ONDA starts, confirm the plan you agreed: the areas, the amount and the total price. It is reasonable to ask to see the device or the sealed product, to ask how discomfort during ONDA will be managed, and to pause if something differs from what was discussed.

A patient coordinator sees you first, and the doctor follows. Skin is assessed with an EVE V MUSE analyser.

Disclose these before treatment

Each of the following changes whether treatment is appropriate or how it is delivered. If nobody asks, say so anyway.

  • Pregnancy, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
  • Current medication, particularly anticoagulants, isotretinoin and immunosuppressants
  • Inflammation, infection, open wounds or active acne in the treatment area
  • Implanted devices: pacemakers, defibrillators, and metal or filler in the treatment area
  • Previous treatments to the same area, especially fillers, threads and surgery
  • Autoimmune conditions or a history of slow wound healing
  • Recent sun exposure, and any long-haul flight in the days after
  • Hernias or surgical scarring in the treatment area
  • Recent significant weight change, which alters the fat layer

Questions people ask

Can I go back to work right after ONDA?

Many people do, but visible redness or swelling and the clinic’s aftercare instructions decide it. Ask what the restrictions are and plan the first day accordingly.

Is there a way to reduce visible downtime?

Ask whether settings or areas can be adjusted and what aftercare is recommended. A gentler plan may mean more sessions of ONDA, which is a trade-off worth hearing about up front.

How long does a ONDA appointment take?

Allow time for the consultation, preparation such as numbing, the treatment itself and a short check afterwards. Ask the clinic for the total so you can plan the rest of the day.

Can I change my mind on the day?

Yes. Consent can be withdrawn before treatment begins, and a clinic should respect that.

How do I reach Min Clinic if something comes up once I am home?

WhatsApp is answered between 09:00 and 19:00 Korea time, usually immediately or within about ten minutes. The clinic is closed on public holidays but still replies to messages left then. Keeping your treatment record to hand makes a message from abroad quicker to answer.
